Although I haven't heard which pros are competing as of yet I'm still excited about a Pro show here in my home town of NYC. I've been approaching this show with the same intensity and enthusiasm as I always do and in the process have found new and innovative ways to challenge myself. If I'm GOING TO BE THE home town hero I need to bring an extremely shredded and lean physique while keeping my classic lines. My motto is to "just be me" for this show and I think this mindset will take to where I need to be for all my NYC fans. Training vids and pictures to come. IT'S TIME FOR A SUPERBODY
Coming off a disappointing 8th place finish in the Lighweight Pro Division, I've taken some time to reevaluate and make some much needed changes. First off the Universe was a great show but it did take a toll on me and it reflected in my overall appearance at the show. So its back to the drawing board with the goal of adding quality mass and keeping my symmetry in tack. I'd like to add size to my hamstrings, chest and arms with the goal of coming in about 5 lbs heavier come November. As they say "you live and you learn" and to me that's what bodybuilding is all about. If you want something you go get it. If you want something bad enough you take it. I have a visual outlook of what I might become all I have to do is stay on track, stay focused and wait for the future to come to me.
sitting on 175lbs at the moment with great conditioning. I'm way ahead of schedule as far as how I look and decided to have 1 carb up day a week.. Ive been using this carb up day as a experiment to see what meal best works to get me full and hard in the least amount of time. I also want to see what combo of carbs fats and salts will keep this look longer in my appearance . I've upped my cardio significantly from weeks past and have focused on harder contractions and form in my weight lifting program. At this rate I will be about 10lbs heavier than my last contest with even better symmetry.. Detail is key to having a classical and artistic physique.
Since my last diet update I have cut out all red meat and have lowered my carbs.. I'm at about 180lbs and want to lose fat slowly. However with the new changes to the diet I will be a bit hungrier and tighten up even more before I change the diet again I only have a 2 weeks at the most on the Muscle Juice so when that runs out the carbs will go down at least 50g.. pray for me!
How do you decide how long to prep for a show? Well for me it starts when you start hear your name spoken by your competitors. This year will be my first Pro Show and to me expectations have never been higher. I haven't competed since the 09 Vegas where I won my Pro Card and I've got some unfinished business with a certain person yet to be unveiled. In the coming weeks I will be posting workouts, diet and videos pertaining to my progress towards the MM Universe. This is a step towards the Short Class title that means I will unleash hell on my body and come out the victor. A lot of people can talk all they want about what they are going to do but can they truly back it up? Can you MM pros with stand a extreme diet and show up crisp, dry and in your best shape? I've seen a lot of you guys come on flat with terrible routines.. Look out for me in the coming weeks MM Fans this is the start of something BIG.
This past weekend I went snowboarding at Bellaire Mountain here in NY. I'm always up for a challenge and knowing that I'm a few weeks out from starting my pre contest diet for the Universe in June, I wanted to do something fun, extreme and get a good workout in. To my surprise snowboarding is pretty difficult for a muscle loaded maniac such as myself. In snowboarding its all about Balance and Pressure in the Calves, Ankles and Tibia. Mix this in with a huge upper body and enormous legs "we've got a problem". My experience was fun and I'd definitely do it again but damn how many times can one man bust his ass? Take a good guess and I'll tell you if you're right.
Here's a great shot of me hitting the Front double even in full snow gear... Watch out for me at the Universe!
offseason has been over for 7 weeks now and i've gone from 185 to around 178.. My plan is to lose the fat slow till i'm at my competition weight. from there I will slowly start to add calories back in and put on lean quality mass. Most days i take in about 120 -160g of carbs and i'm eating 9 meals a day. My days are very long (waking at 4am and getting home at 7pm) so packing and prep is key to my lifestyle. I workout 2 times a day some days of the week and play sports in my afterschool program I run 5 days a week. What it all comes down to is staying motivated, fighting the pizza and hunger cravings and staying on track... I want a new look and i've been striving to make improvements before my Pro debut.. one thing is for sure.. the new package is the real deal.. WATCH OUT
