As written earlier in MM.com news, MM New York Champion Mackenzi Philippeaux has been dealing with the destruction of his home in Porta-au-Prince, Haiti. Thankfully, everyone in his family are safe and have been able to acquire food and water. However, they have been forced to sleep outside of their damaged home with no idea what to do next. Musclemania has been sending money to Mackenzi to help with his family's basic needs, but the bigger issues about lodging will depend upon the rebuilding plans and policies of the government of Haitian government. Mackenzi says, "It's been a horrible experience for everyone. It's like a bomb hit the city. It's like a bad dream that you can't wake up from." Since last month's earthquake, he and his family have been living outside of their house in tents and on mattresses. Yet, Mackenzi's yearning to get back to gym is gnawing at him. "The local gym was completed destroyed - to the ground. So, we don't have anyplace to train. I guess it doesn't matter right now, anyway. What's important is the health & welfare of my family. It may be awhile before I can train again." We will continue to support and help Mackenzi and post improvements with his family's situation. Hopefully, soon circumstances will start to improve and he will be able to training again and return to the Musclemania Tour.
