| MUSCLED UP MEDIA NETWORK Musclemania Britain is pleased to welcome Fit Body Promotions as our official fitness liaison service linking marketable athletes to homeland career opportunities. The decision was made after our 2011 season review with events attracting an unusually high number of athletes who are marketable in the commercial world and in need of active daily promotion across the UK. With U-Phorm as the event promoters of Musclemania Britain and the highly time consuming business of supporting young people in need at the top of our daily agenda, the partnership will allow us to bridge the gap with the efforts of Fit Body Promotions as a competitor support service. The company is run by Tom Watters, a champion bodybuilder and strongman with over 10 years training experience and “the soccer mum of the fitness industry” Renee Watters, who will be looking after our teenage and junior athletes to provide information, advice, and guidance. Renee will be performing background checks and making sure that our youngest athletes and models receive support to know the difference between genuine opportunities and the ones to stay away from, whilst working alongside our child safeguarding policy. Fit Body Promotions will also be participating in bids to link government funding to the fitness industry and wider England employability targets. The team will be integrating all of Musclemania’s featured athletes to their media network for a joint approach in competitor promotion. | | Model England Champion Duquine Brooks took the leap and flew to Miami to compete at the Fitness Universe Weekend. For him and many other competitors, it was an amazing experience. But, it is probably best you read about it in his own words. "Competing at Musclemania Universe was an experience unlike no other. The atmosphere, the crowd, the media, the level of competition, just everything was twice as great as I had imagined it. The male fitness model category alone had 77 competitors from all over the world, all in fantastic shape. I had tremendous fun both on stage and back stage, and felt proud to be representing both Anguilla and England at such a prestigious event. The road to Universe was not an easy one and called for extreme dedication, consistency and over the top time management skills. This meant overcoming the stress of studying for a Master’s degree, modeling, working, training, dieting, socializing, and most of all motivating myself to do this daily. Now, as I sit here reminiscing in Miami, I can think of nothing else but going home to train harder and come back stronger for both the Musclemania Fitness Britain Finals and Musclemania World in Las Vegas later this year. I would encourage anyone to aspire to compete at such a world class event! Winning isn’t everything, and the possibilities are endless. Do whatever it takes to keep yourself motivated towards achieving your goals. If it means standing in the mirror and talking to yourself, do it. If it means asking for help or inspiration, do it. if it means playing the same song 100 times while you work out, do it! I would also like to give special thanks to a few special people and organisations, whom were instrumental in motivating and supporting me throughout my journey. Firstly the Staff at Fitness Britain, the MEM Gym Boys, Angie Weston (Miami Pro), Dungeon Gym Anguilla, all the photographers and models I’ve worked with. I’d like to thank members of the Anguilla Body building Association, the whole Anguillian Community, Verdine Connor, Darren DOC Gumbs, Joseph Pradel, Paulette Syblis, Dr Lanny Hobson, my family,CutAndJacked.com, MostMuscular.com, all my UK supporters, and all my Facebook friends. Competing at Musclemania Universe was a dream of mine now realised and that first experience will last a lifetime. To everyone that provided direct or indirect support, even if it was a simple comment or a backstage nod, I say thank you for your support."
