The final urinalysis test results for the Musclemania World & America Championships were reported this week which included the disappointing news that MM World Pro Champion Ricardo Plata of Colombia tested positive for 3'-Hydroxystanozolol (Stanozolol). Effective immediately, Ricardo has been disqualified and forfeits his title and
award. As well, since he tested positive and was suspended three years ago, he will no longer be able to compete in any Musclemania event. The 5'6", 190 lbs. personal trainer won the Short Class and beat Tall Class winner Ulisses for the overall title 6 to 1. However, since Ulisses' urinalysis test results were negative, he now becomes the 2010 Musclemania World Pro Champion. Musclemania prides itself on producing honest, clean and transparent competitions. Equally important, it provides a world class venue, staging and media for natural bodybuilders to present their physiques and hard work. So, when instances like this occur, its challenges the mantel of the organization to come clean and do the right thing. As Musclemania Masters Champion Kyle Kroll said in a recent e-mail message, "It's great to see an organization take pride in establishing itself as a truly natural federation and one in which competitors can take pride in and compete on a level playing ground. I had a great time while in Vegas and at your venue. Thanks to your commitment and hard work in making this show and all of your shows a pleasure to be part of." Thanks to Kyle and all of the great natural bodybuilders around the world whom make Musclemania the standard for the sport!
