Musclemania Pro Michael Lee was in the US Army 15 years ago. He explains, “I weighed about 185 lbs. and my fitness was primarily push-ups, sit-ups and running 15-30 miles per week. Right before I was honorably discharged, I underwent knee surgery. My confidence in my fitness was gone and I literally walked away from fitness. Walking away from fitness was the worst decision of my life. I gained 50 lbs and became pre-diabetic. If my Dad had not died of diabetes, I certainly would have developed that disease too.
After he died, I was very depressed, not only about his death, but about my own health. Deciding enough was enough, in 2010, I started transforming my body. I initially started with fitness principles I learned in the military which were daily runs, push-ups and sit-ups. Eventually, I advanced to lifting weights. When I started lifting weights, I fell in love with how it made me feel. I began to naturally build my body and add muscle. After that, I started doing photo shoots, physique competitions and sharing my story through my online programs and coaching.
So, my journey of going from fit, to fat, to ultra fit, unfortunately was birthed from setbacks and tragedy. But, today, I embrace my journey because now I am helping impact the lives of millions of people all over the world, and the movement of health and fitness is growing. I’m just one of many health and fitness pro’s that want to influence people to take action before it’s too late.
To anyone who is reading this, your health and fitness matters. Not only can it increase your longevity, but it can also increase the quality of your life. I have had countless opportunities open up to me simply because of people respecting the level of discipline and work ethic I’ve applied to my health and fitness. And I can assure you, if you can find a way to sustain living a healthy and fit lifestyle, you can also find a way to become successful in the areas of work and business.”
